Hi, I'm Jay Littlejohn, a multi-disciplined UX/UI designer and creator dedicated to bringing your visions to life. My passion is in crafting designs that not only meet your goals but also communicate, inform, and inspire users
With a rich background in teaching, training, course development, video production, graphic arts, law enforcement, and military service, I bring a unique perspective to every project. My 28-year career with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), along with service in the US Army, Army Reserves, and National Guard, has equipped me with a wealth of experience.
During my tenure at the CMPD Training Academy, I specialized in technology and tactical training, developing innovative solutions and managing a video production studio I created. This experience honed my skills in video production, graphic design, and content development for diverse audiences.
Additionally, my work with the US Department of State Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program involved updating and teaching tactical training courses for allied law enforcement. As a contract instructor for AXON, I deliver "train the trainer" courses on TASER Conducted Energy Devices and Virtual Reality Training Devices.
Now, after a well-deserved break, I’m excited to channel my extensive background into creating exceptional digital experiences. My commitment to detail, user-centered design, and impactful solutions ensures high-quality results tailored to your needs.
Deliver training on all models of Conducted Energy Weapons (TASERS) to departmental and organizational trainers. Ensure students complete online pre-course work, manage equipment inventory and shipping, set up the classroom, conduct classroom instruction and practical exercises, and complete administrative tasks to certify students as TASER Instructors.
During my career from 1998 to 2008, I was a key member of the In-Service Training Staff, where I played a vital role in developing and implementing online training programs. I took the initiative to establish a video production studio, where I was responsible for creating and editing all video, audio, graphics, and digital peripherals required for internally developed training. Additionally, I managed the revision and implementation of the High-Risk Warrant Service School, which became the department’s most sought-after elective course. I also contributed to the development and rollout of the department’s recurring mass violence response course.
As an Instructor and Auditor with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Office of Antiterrorism Assistance (DS/T/ATA), I played a role in instructing and auditing the DS/T/ATA curriculum and assistance programs for foreign partners. I contributed to the development of their capabilities in anti-terrorism planning, coordination, and commitment to supporting U.S. counterterrorism objectives. Through classroom instruction, presentations, and exercises conducted in both developing countries and U.S. training sites, I facilitated cooperative efforts between U.S. law enforcement and international counterparts, aiming to prevent future terrorist attacks and manage their consequences.
During my time on active duty I served as a platoon leader and company executive officer in the Republic of South Korea with 6 months spent at the Demilitarized Zone. I then served as a company executive officer then assistant brigade operations officer in the training brigade at Fort McClellan Alabama.
